A/C unit thefts at seasonal homes

BRANCH COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Branch County are investigating the theft of air conditioning units from several residences.

The crimes have been occurring lately in Algansee, Quincy and Ovid townships, primarily at seasonal lakefront homes where nobody is currently living, according to a Wednesday police news release.

The suspects are removing entire central-air type units after cutting the lines connected to the homes, according to Michigan State Police.
