GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Cornerstone University is building a new $23 million chapel.

The new chapel will seat nearly 1,500 when finished in the fall of 2015, according to a release from Cornerstone.

School officials say an increase in enrollment allowed them to build the new chapel.

There will be space for community worship at the new chapel. It will also include new teaching and practice suites, rehearsal space, faculty offices, and teaching space for the university’s music division.

It was funded by the CU Influence fundraising campaign, which is still accepting donations.
