HOWARD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Cass County man and his 8-year-old daughter were hurt Saturday when their snowmobile was hit by a vehicle.

It happened around 4 p.m. on Bame Avenue in Howard Township, east of Niles, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

Keith Peterson, 33, and his daughter Emily were riding a snowmobile in the road when Randall Womble, 60, pulled out of his driveway.

The Petersons were both taken to the hospital. Womble was not hurt.

Both Petersons were wearing their helmets and Womble was wearing his seat belt.

The sheriff’s department said alcohol may have been a factor, but did not specify who may have been drinking.
