SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. (WOOD) — A stretch of southbound US-131 was shut down for a time south of Schoolcraft Monday due to a 13-vehicle crash.
The wreck involved 12 cars and a semi-truck, according to Michigan State Police, and shut down the highway for about two hours.
No one was hurt, MSP said.
The crash was caused by a limited visibility due to blowing snow.
Police advised avoiding southbound US-131 near Schoolcraft because blowing snow has continued to cause poor visibility.
MSP is also asking residents to stay home if possible. If you must go out, it advises slowing down, keeping both hands on the wheel, and not allowing yourself to be distracted.
