MATTAWAN, Mich. (WOOD) — A Van Buren County sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized Tuesday after his cruiser was involved in a crash.
The deputy was responding to another crash on I-94 near Mattawan around 7:15 p.m. He was exiting his patrol vehicle when the driver of a third vehicle lost control and smashed into the back of the SUV.
The deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Dispatchers did not specify the nature of those injuries Tuesday night.
He was taken to the hospital for observation.
