Walk for Warmth in West Michigan

Walk for Warmth

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Some people in West Michigan are facing tough times, and those sometimes come with difficult choices: whether to feed your family or pay your heating bill.

With temperatures dropping to near record lows, your help is needed to make this year’s Walk for Warmth the most successful yet!

Statewide, Consumers Energy participates in and helps promote 26 Walks for Warmth, recruiting 1,000 walkers. It hopes to raise $115,000 from volunteers and matches employee contributions.

The Walk for Warmth in Grand Rapids is hosted by the Area Community Services Employment & Training Council, known as ACSET. The walk is Saturday, February 22, 2014 at ACSET’s offices at the West Side Complex at 215 Straight Street in Grand Rapids. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and the walk is at 9 a.m.
