The incident started in the 800 block of Myrtle Street NW. The suspected robbers were at the home to purchase some electronics from the residents there, but instead robbed them.

The robbers then fled to a nearby residence in the 1300 block of Alpine Avenue NW.

A stretch of Alpine Avenue NW was shut down in the area for over two hours while Grand Rapids police attempted to get the suspects out of the home. A nearby Quik Mart was evacuated.

Eventually, three people were taken into custody.

One of the suspects was arrested on home invasion and robbery charges. Two others, who may also have been involved in the robbery, were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Police say the robbery suspects were armed with handguns at the time of the crime.
