100+ vets apply for Spectrum internships

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A program aimed at putting veterans back to work is getting a lot of response.

Spectrum Health’s Veteran Explorers  internship program trains vets and helps them land jobs at the end of the program. This year, Spectrum is expanding the program from four to 60 paid internship positions at two locations.

Spectrum said Thursday it had already had 102 veterans apply, exceeding expectations for the first year of the expanded program.

Spectrum said it plans to run the program again next year and expand it to more hospitals.

Friday is the last day to apply. Contact the Spectrum Health Veteran Explorers Program: 616.391.1760
