ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was killed and another was injured in a Monday evening crash west of Allendale.

Brookie Rae Boyer was driving her Chevrolet Malibu east on Lake Michigan Drive around 7:13 p.m. when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe. The SUV’s driver tried to avoid the collision but the vehicles collided nearly head-on, police said.

Boyer, 69, from Kentwood, was extricated from her vehicle and died at the scene west of 104th Avenue, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The Tahoe driver, 24-year-old Stephen Molitor from Grand Haven, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the wreck.

Alcohol was not a factor in the wreck, and the road was clear of snow and ice, police said.
