CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A man is in jail after allegedly assaulting his live-in girlfriend at their home in Montcalm County.

The crime occurred during the afternoon of Feb. 1 on Gregory Drive in Crystal Township near Stanton.

That is where the 37-year-old victim was assaulted and choked by her live-in boyfriend, police said in a news release.

Her boyfriend, a 20-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.

He is in the Montcalm County Jail without bond.
