STURGIS, Mich. (WOOD) — The City of Sturgis has declared a snow removal emergency.
The emergency will go into effect at 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to an afternoon release from the city. The city said it is due to a forecasted accumulation of more than four inches.
The snow removal emergency means that parking will be prohibited on all city streets. Vehicles in violation will be cited and towed at the owner’s expense, according to a release from the city.
The city said the parking restriction will be in effect until “the snow storm ends and your street has been cleared of snow between two successive street intersections or if the City terminates the declaration with a public announcement.”
This is not Sturgis’ first snow removal emergency this year. The city declared similar emergencies on Jan. 25 and Feb. 1, as well.
