BCPD: Man abducts ex-girlfriend

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) – A man is in the Calhoun County Jail after allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend.

The Battle Creek Police Department received a call around 8 a.m. Wednesday of the incident occurring in the 2000 block of Collier Road.

The boyfriend of the 40-year-old female victim contacted authorities and said her ex-boyfriend may have abducted her, according to a news release.

Police responded to a residence on Collier Road and noticed the front door had been forced open but no one was inside.

Officers were given a description of the suspect’s vehicle and notified other law enforcement agencies.

Police located the suspect’s vehicle and performed a traffic stop near Collier Road and Blue Spruce Lane.

The suspect, a 40-year-old man, and the victim were both in the vehicle.

The victim had suffered minor injuries when the suspect forced her into the vehicle earlier in the evening.

The suspect was arrested on charges of home invasion, kidnapping, and false imprisonment.
