Last official day for GRPD’s Chief Belk

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Friday marked the last official day on the job for the Grand Rapids Police Chief Kevin Belk.

In January, Belk announced he was retiring.

His career began with GRPD in1980, and he has been the chief of police since 2008.

While Friday may be his last official day, Belk is sticking around for awhile.

The city has asked him to stay on in a transitional role as they continue to search for his replacement.
