Man with schizophrenia found safe

ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Kent County authorities have found a man with mental disorders who disappeared Saturday afternoon from his Alpine Township home.

Nathan Lee Adkinson, 28, was located around 4:30 a.m. Monday. Police did not have any more details.

He disappeared after leaving his residence at York Creek Apartments off Alpine Avenue to do some errands but never returned home, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

Adkinson has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and takes medication for the illness. Friends and family said they were concerned he may have been suicidal.
