Man with knife robs Portage grocery store

PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Portage are looking for a man who robbed a grocery store at knifepoint.

It happened Monday at the Harding’s Woodbridge Market located at 3750 W. Centre Avenue, according to the Portage Department of Public Safety.

A clerk told police that a man with a knife approached the counter and took an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect then left. A vehicle may have been waiting for him the parking lot, police said.

The description of the suspect provided by police was vague: He was described as a 5-foot-10 black male wearing a dark quilted jacket, a scarf, and a dark-colored shirt and hat.
