Seven adults were arrested and five young children were removed from a residence after a methamphetamine bust.

The St. Joseph County Area Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant on Feb. 7 in the 200 block of N. Clay Street, near the corner of M-66 and U.S. 12, in Sturgis after receiving tips that methamphetamine activity was taking place here.

Officers searched the residence and found meth and evidence of use of meth, according to a police news release.

Four men — 51, 47, 37, 33 — and three women — 49, 46, 31 — were arrested on charges related to the possession of meth and its use.

Children’s Protective Services removed five minor children from the residence.

Sturgis police, St. Joseph County Road Patrol, and corrections staff from the St. Joseph County Jail assisted with the investigation.
