ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WOOD) — A third man has been charged with the murder of a University of Michigan medical student from Schoolcraft.
Dajeon Lavelle Franklin, 21, was arraigned Tuesday on a count of felony homicide, two counts of first-degree home invasion, conspiracy to commit second-degree home invasion and felony firearms.
A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf, according to a release from Ann Arbor police.
Franklin, of Pittsfield Township south of Ann Arbor, is the third person to be formally charged in the death of Paul DeWolf.
DeWolf, 25, was found dead in his off-campus fraternity house on July 24, 2013.
Shaquille Jones, 21, and 20-year-old Joei Jordan were arrested in November in their native South Carolina and charged with murder and home invasion in the case.
Last week, Jones pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit home invasion, and two counts of first-degree home invasion. A count of open murder was dismissed. He is expected to be sentenced April 16.
Franklin is already serving a sentence for an unrelated home invasion. He is expected back in court Feb. 20 for a preliminary exam.
