Emails from Michigan Court of Appeals are fake
LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) – A scam e-mail that pretends to be from the Michigan Court of Appeals has been reported in Michigan.
In one reported version, the subject line states, “Your complaint received.”
The message reads in part, “Letter of acknowledgement. Hereby you are advised that we have received your complaint. Shortly after we receive your complaint confirmation we will initiate a trial.”
The recipient is then told to click on a hyperlink to “confirm your complaint.”
