St. Joseph County reports flu-related death

THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WOOD) — St. Joseph County health officials have reported the latest flu-related death in West Michigan, bringing the total to 13.

The male victim was over 60 years old and suffered other chronic conditions, according to the county. He tested positive for H1N1.

Kent County has been hit the hardest in West Michigan, with five deaths this season.

Kalamazoo County has had three deaths, Ottawa County has had two, and Barry and Van Buren counties have each had one.
