Teen with gun flees traffic stop; 3 arrested

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Three people were arrested following a traffic stop in Grand Rapids Friday morning.

Officers spotted a vehicle whose driver was driving wrecklessly around 1 a.m. near Eastern Avenue and Temple Street SE.

Police stopped the vehicle, and a 17-year-old occupant ran from the scene to a residential area, and tossed a gun along the way, police said.

Officers caught him near the Oak Hill Cemetery, at Hall Street and Eastern Avenue SE.

The teen now faces concealed weapon charges.

Two other people in the vehicle were arrested on misdemeanor charges.
