COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The heavy snow is likely to blame for a storage facility collapse in Comstock Township Saturday night.
Those who had storage inside had to come in and get their stuff out.
Matthew Norman got the call from the owner of the storage facility Saturday saying the roof had come down.
“We will have to pull as much out as we can and document what is damaged and that is all we can really do for now,” said Norman.
Norman and some friends worked Saturday night to board up the facility and protect what he has inside.
“We’re going to be here for quite awhile cleaning this up,” said Norman. “Barricade this, do it all as best we can tonight.”
This is the latest roof collapse in West Michigan likely caused by the weight of the snow.
In the coming days, the insurance company will be out here to take a look and survey everything in order to give an estimate on how much damage was done.
