Celebrating Grand Rapids’ favorite son

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Today is Presidents’ Day, and in honor of the holiday, you can see the life and times of our 38th president and Grand Rapids’ favorite son, Gerald R. Ford.

“Growing Up Grand” is on display now at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. The exhibition walks you through the first 22 years of Gerald R. Ford’s life. It’s in celebration of the 100th anniversary of his birth. You can get a look at his childhood home, his experience in the Boy Scouts, and his football and fraternity career at the University of Michigan.

The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum is open until 5 p.m. on Monday, February 17. “Growing Up Grand” continues until June.
