REMUS, Mich. (WOOD) – A man was arrested after allegedly stabbing one of his live-in girlfriend’s children at their home in Mecosta County.
The incident occurred around 5:50 a.m. Wednesday in the Chippewa Hills Estates Trailer Court, 14000 block of 30th Avenue, north of Remus.
The woman and her children were able to flee the residence and go to her vehicle to wait for police and EMS to arrive.
The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries, police told 24 Hour News 8 at the scene.
The suspect was also hospitalized after suffering a self-inflicted stab wound.
A neighbor told 24 Hour News 8 the couple have a history of domestic problems.
