From stray to family member

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) A special dog who used to live on the streets is now looking for his forever home.

Scout was a stray living on scraps from neighbors in the Kalamazoo area before he found the safety of Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary in Lake Odessa.

Scout is a German Shepherd Labrador Retriever mix who’s about three years old. He’s a little shy at first, but he would blossom with the right loving family of his own, and could use a nice, big fenced-in yard to run around. He also loves taking long walks and brushing up on his commands.  He’s had all of his routine shots and is ready to meet someone like you!

The cost of adopting is $150 and they help dogs like Scout find homes within an area 150 miles of Lake Odessa.

If you want to meet Scout or any of the adoptable dogs you can see online, give Mackenzie’s a call. They make the adoption process easy. They’ll set up a time for you to come visit the dogs at their place, then they’ll set up a visit at your home with the dog of your choice to ensure a good match.
