KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was stabbed multiple times in Kalamazoo Thursday after what appears to have been a dispute over a cellphone.
It happened around 5:45 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Transportation Center on N. Burdick Street near Kalamazoo Avenue, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man lying on the ground outside the building. He had several stab wounds to the back.
The 36-year-old victim, a Kalamazoo resident, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 39-year-old suspect, also of Kalamazoo, tried to run away but was quickly arrested.
