GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An Ada Township teen has admitted to stabbing a 15-year-old friend.
Samuel King pleaded guilty Wednesday in Kent County Circuit Court to assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, but claimed mental illness. He also admitted to being a second-degree habitual offender.
In October 2013, King stabbed the 15-year-old at the victim’s home in Ada Township. King was 17 at the time.
The victim, a Forest Hills Northern junior, had to undergo surgery for his injuries.
During a jailhouse interview shortly after his arrest, King told 24 Hour News 8 that he and the friend had been having an ongoing argument that started over a Facebook post in which the friend displayed a mug shot of King.
King’s sentencing is scheduled for March 11.
