UNION CITY, Mich. (WOOD) – Four people were arrested for their alleged connection to a methamphetamine bust in Branch County.

An anonymous tip to Branch County Central Dispatch helped authorities begin their investigation around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

The tipster said some people were cooking meth at a residence at 405 W. High St. in Union City.

A Union City police officer was notified of the tip and developed possible suspects from previous contacts at the residence, according to a news release.

A vehicle left the residence and was located a short time later in Coldwater. The driver, 18-year-old Madalyn Mohrhardt from Coldwater, was questioned, possessing meth, and gave more information about the alleged wrongdoing at the High Street residence.

The Branch County Sheriff’s Office Meth Response Team was dispatched to the scene, and a search warrant was requested.

Authorities executed that warrant at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the residence where three men were possessing meth and arrested on multiple drug charges. These men have been identified as Chad Goldey, 32, from Union City; Jason Reincke, 36, from Union City; and Timothy Diamond Jr., 24, from Union City.
