GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Crews have repaired a water main that broke last week at a very busy Grand Rapids intersection.
The water main broke around 11 p.m. Feb. 21 at 28th Street and Eastern Avenue SE.
The road was fully reopened around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Crews at the scene told 24 Hour News 8 last week that it was a challenge finding the actual break because of 4-feet of deep frost and the thickness of the pavement. It wasn’t until 6 p.m. Saturday when the break was found. Crews filled in the holes that were dug to search for the break, along with repairing the main hole.
Detours were posted, and partial lane openings occurred on Monday.
