Tugboat sinks at South Haven museum

SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — A tugboat sank behind the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven Sunday.

It’s not yet known why the Wilhelm Baum sank in the Black River, where it was docked behind the museum, South Haven police say.

No one was on the tugboat at the time and no one was hurt.

Police say the owners of the tugboat, as well as the U.S. Coast Guard and federal authorities were notified.

Local emergency crews have been assessing the situation, South Haven police say.
