GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Sunday marked six months since 62-year-old Maxine Green went missing.

Her family held a prayer vigil Sunday evening at the last place she was seen near the B & B party store on Leonard Street NW in Grand Rapids.

Green is the sister of famed singer Al Green. Her family has been searching for her and putting up flyers since she disappeared on Aug. 23, 2013.

Grand Rapids police told 24 Hour News 8 last fall that this isn’t the first time that Green has disappeared. The past incidents were usually for a period of days or perhaps a week, but never for this long.

In October 2013, 24 Hour News 8 reported about a woman seen on a surveillance camera using Maxine Green’s Bridge Card. That woman told police she knew Maxine but hadn’t seen her since she disappeared.

At that time, police told 24 Hour News 8 many people had been using Maxine’s Bridge Card.

Anyone with information about Green is asked to call GRPD at 616.456.3400 or Silent Observer at 616.774.2345.
