A new lease on life with Mary Free Bed

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) It would be hard to look around any room and not find someone whose life has been impacted by cancer. In West Michigan, we’re fortunate to have facilities to get top notch care. The Betty Ford Cancer Rehabilitation Program at Mary Free Bed has helped one West Michigan woman who is now telling us her story.

Four years ago, at the age of 74, Janet was healthy and physically active. Then she started not feeling well, and one day she fell and had problems walking. She was diagnosed with brain cancer, and after chemo and treatments at the hospital, she was still having problems, so she reached out to Mary Free Bed.

Janet joins us in studio along with Dr. Chris Vandenberg from Mary Free Bed, to discuss how she went from being given seven weeks to live, to being a cancer survivor.
