MDOT gets night noise OK’d

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – Residents living near U.S. 131 between Wealthy and Bridge streets in Grand Rapids will have to deal with some noise this summer.

Michigan Department of Transportation will be working on that section of highway.

Most of the noise will occur during the daytime hours.

But the agency won a variance from the City of Grand Rapids allowing it to make noise at night.

It won’t be too loud. MDOT officials said most of the noise will be from trucks bringing cement to the site.
