MSP updates Sex Offender Registry site

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police have made changes to the state sex offender registry website that will allow users to find out if there are sex offenders living  in their neighborhoods.

One change pulls up a list sex offenders within a 2-mile radius of an address specified by users.

If users don’t want to keep going back to the website to check, they can register to receive an email alert when a sex offender moves into your neighborhood.

If you have already registered to receive these emails, you’ll have to sign up again on the new website.

To sign up again, go to the Michigan Public Sex offender Registry website and click on “register for email alerts.” Enter the required information and then choose “register.”

The site will send you a confirmation email within 24 hours.
