MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Consumers Energy has canceled previously scheduled brief power interruptions for early Saturday in the Muskegon area due to the extremely cold weather.
A new date has not been determined.
During the outages, crews will repair electric distribution equipment, according to the utility company. More than 9,500 customers will be affected.
The interruptions will last for about 15 minutes each:
- From 4 a.m. to 4:15 a.m.: Along Airline Road between Lincoln Avenue in Muskegon Heights and East Sternberg Road in Fruitport Township; 2,993 customers affected.
- From 5 a.m. to 5:15 a.m.: Along and several blocks east and west of Henry Street, between Post Road in Roosevelt Park and Forest Park Road in Norton Shores; 4,676 customers affected.
- From 5:15 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.: Along and several blocks east and west of Henry Street between Young Avenue in Muskegon and Post Road in Roosevelt Park; 1,862 customers affected.
Affected customers were notified via mail about the original schedule, but due to time constraints a follow-up mailing about the cancellation will not happen.
