WAYLAND, Mich. (WOOD) – Some drivers found themselves sharing the road with an unlikely guest in Wayland over the weekend.

After a bull escaped from a trailer at the livestock auction house on the north side of town Sunday, it took a little stroll down 10th Street in the middle of traffic, Wayland Police Chief Steve Harper told 24 Hour News 8.

To get the bull off the road, a Wayland police officer flashed the headlights of his police vehicle to direct it back to the auction house. When that didn’t work, he blasted his air horn to get the message across, Harper said.

Employees at the auction house were then able to corral the bull back into its trailer, after a brief moment of freedom.

No one was hurt in the escape.
