ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — A memorial race is planned for May in honor of a slain University of Michigan medical student on the weekend he was set to have graduated from the medical program.

The Ann Arbor News reports the run for Paul DeWolf will take place at 2 p.m. May 18 at Nichols Arboretum. The cost to register is $17.

Three men were charged in the July 23 death of 25-year-old DeWolf in his off-campus medical fraternity house in Ann Arbor, and one has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

DeWolf was a native of Schoolcraft and a graduate of Grand Valley State University. He was attending medical school on an Air Force scholarship and held the rank of second lieutenant.
