GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – The city of Grand Rapids continues their plan to clear the snow in the streets by plowing specific areas Tuesday.
All neighborhoods bordered from Knapp Street to Leonard Street NE and Plainfield Avenue to Fuller Avenue NE will see city plows come by.
Residents are being told to avoid parking on these residential streets between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday so the roads can be widened as the piles of snow are removed.
Owners could get ticketed and have their vehicles towed.
City officials say that when the streets are plowed, snow may be pushed onto sidewalks and into driveways. It is the residents’ responsibility to clear those areas.
The City has also been asking residents to clear away snow and ice from catch basins to prevent flooding, and from around fire hydrants to help firefighters in the event of an emergency.
