New contemporary art exhibit at the GRAM

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) If you’re a fan of Andy Warhol or Jasper Johns, or you just want to learn more about contemporary art, the Grand Rapids Art Museum has an exhibition right now that you’re going to love!

The Emily Fisher Landau collection contains more than 80 pieces of art and takes up the whole second floor of the museum. Take a look inside the exhibition! It runs through April 27.

Tuesdays are great days to check out beautiful works of art at the GRAM because admission is free on Tuesdays, thanks to Meijer. The museum is closed on Mondays, and stays open later on Thursdays, until 9 p.m.

You’ll also want to mark your calendar for the upcoming “Art in Bloom” at the GRAM on March 21, 22 and 23. It’s a weekend exhibition filled with amazing activities — everything from floral demonstrations to a cocktail reception, and a floral design competition with the area’s best artists.

One last thing to include during your GRAM visit is stopping to see the winning piece from this year’s ArtPrize competition. “Sleeping Bear Dune Lakeshore” is a landscape art quilt by Ann Loveless. It’s on display on the main floor of the museum.
