GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids City Commission has approved a new apartment project for a section of Belknap Lookout.

Twelve buildings will be demolished to make way for four new apartment buildings on Clancy Avenue NE between Fairbanks and Trowbridge streets.

The 66 units will be a mix of one- to four-bedroom apartments.

The apartments will be near a four-block area that Grand Valley State University intends to use to expand its downtown health campus.

Construction on Clancy Lofts is expected to be complete by fall 2015, according to MLive.

GVSU, however, says it won’t develop any of its land for at least five years.
