ALBION, Mich. (WOOD) — The Albion City Council voted Monday to oust the city manager.

The council held a closed session Monday to address a complaint against City Manager Dan Bishop.

After amending their agenda in open session to consider Bishop’s employment, councilmembers voted 5-2 to terminate him.

Because the council was in closed session as it discussed what led up to Bishop being fired, it’s not yet known what prompted members’ decision.

Bishop had been the city manager in Albion since July 2012.
