GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – A man who threatened to kill everyone at a Kent County daycare was found guilty on one of the two counts against him.

On Tuesday, 26-year-old Mario Brazier was found guilty to the malicious use of a telecommunications device. He was found not guilty on one count of false report or threat of terrorism.

In 2013, police said Brazier called the Rainbow Child Care Center on 68th Street multiple times on May 20th looking for his ex-wife, who is an employee there. The woman who answered the phone would not allow him to speak to the ex-wife. At that point, he threatened to kill the woman who answered the phone, as well as everyone else at the day care.

The child care contacted authorities, who arrested Brazier within an hour and a half.

In January 2014, Brazier pled no contest to false report or threat of terrorism. In the plea deal, Brazier would have been put in jail for no longer than a year. In February, Brazier withdrew his plea and went to trial.

Brazier is scheduled to be sentenced on April 23.
