KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kalamazoo 10-year-old who said he didn’t have any friends will get a huge birthday surprise in New York City Friday.
Colin will turn 11 on March 9.
He has been diagnosed with a sensory processing disorder and another disorder similar to Asperger’s. The disorders make it difficult for him to socialize with others.
When his mom Jennifer asked him about having a birthday party, he said he didn’t have any friends to invite. That broke Jennifer’s heart, so she made a Facebook page for people to wish Colin a happy birthday. It went viral — with more than 2 million likes — and he has received well-wishes from all over the world.
Colin doesn’t know about any of that yet — it’s a surprise.
And Friday, Good Morning America will throw Colin a massive surprise birthday party in Times Square.
A Thursday post on the Facebook page said the family had made it in New York.
That will air live between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on WOTV4Women.
