6th Heidelberg project house burns down

DETROIT (WOOD) — Another fire has burned a house that’s part of the Heidelberg Project outdoor art installation in Detroit Friday morning.

According to our affiliate, WDIV, the Detroit Fire Department was sent to the “Doll House” at around 3 a.m.

It took nearly ten minutes for the house to be completely engulfed in flames.

This is the sixth Heidelberg Project house to be destroyed by fire.

Timeline of the fires:

  • May 3, 2013: “Obstruction of Justice” home burned down
  • November 12, 2013: “House of Soul”
  • November 21, 2013: “The Penny House”
  • November 28, 2013: “War House”
  • December 8, 2013: “Clock House”

Efforts have been taking place to add more security at the Heidelberg Project.
