Witness identifies TV thief

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) – One of two people accused of stealing a television from a residence is in jail.

Witnesses told police two males were seen carrying a TV from the rear of an unoccupied residence in the 200 block of Spring Street, between W. Dickman Road and Goguac Street, in Battle Creek around 9 p.m. Sunday.

Officers arrived and discovered the suspects forced their way into the residence, according to a news release.

While checking the area, officers spotted someone matching the description of one of the suspects. He was detained and a witness positively identified him as one of the TV thieves.

The suspect, a 25-year-old man, was taken into custody on breaking-and-entering charges.

No information about the other suspect is available at this time.
