Women on the run for a good cause

Gazelle Girl

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Whether you’re looking to compete in your first 5K or participate in a half marathon, the Gazelle Girl race is perfect for you! It’s a race all for women, offering an opportunity to run with your mom, sister, cousins, grandma, girlfriends, or even a co-worker!

Gazelle Girl was started to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Title IX in 2013. All proceeds raised from the race go to benefit charity partners. Last year, they donated nearly $50,000 to three charities: Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW), the YWCA, and Kent County Girls on the Run.

Gazelle Girl is on Sunday, April 13. The half marathon starts at 8 a.m. The 5K run/walk starts at 8:15 a.m. You can find more information on their website, Facebook page, or by following them on Twitter.
