GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are investigating after a man believed to have been hurt in connection to a shooting showed up at a local hospital Tuesday evening.

GRPD says at least one shot was fired around 6 p.m. in the 1500 block of Langley Street SE, in the area of of Kalamazoo Avenue and 44th Street — though no one was actually shot.

The man believed to be the victim sustained a broken nose, according to GRPD Lt. Mark Ostapowicz. He told 24 Hour News 8 the victim is not cooperating with police, so they don’t know if his broken nose is the result of trying to dodge a bullet or if he simply fell.

Officers used a K-9 to search for the shooter Tuesday evening, but a suspect was not taken into custody.

The victim’s name has not been released.
