STURGIS, Mich. (WOOD) – With more snow expected, the City of Sturgis has issued a city-wide snow removal emergency, effective at 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The city said it issued the emergency because of more than four inches of snow accumulation is expected.
Parking is prohibited on all city streets while the emergency is in effect.
Drivers with vehicles parked in violation are subject to a citation and $50 fine, and their cars could towed at the owner’s expense, according to a news release.
The parking prohibition is in effect until this latest snowstorm ends and residents’ streets have been cleared of snow between two successive street intersections, or if the City terminates the declaration with a public announcement.
