Driver of disabled vehicle hit, killed

MAPLE GROVE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A woman died after being hit by a vehicle when she got out of her disabled vehicle on a Barry County road.

It happened around 7:10 a.m. Wednesday on M-66 near Casgrove Road in Maple Grove Township, south of Nashville.

Samantha Koch’s was driving south when her vehicle became disabled. She got out of her vehicle and was struck by another southbound vehicle, police said.

Koch of Calhoun County was transported to a hospital where she later died.

The other driver was a 40-year-old Barry County resident.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
