ALBION, Mich. (WOOD) — The former Albion city manager, who was fired last week, has been linked to an investigation into “an alleged assault.”
Dan Bishop, who had been Albion’s city manager since July 2012, was fired March 3 by the Albion City Council. The reason for the termination was not disclosed in open session.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Thursday it is conducting an investigation involving Albion’s former city manager.
“It does involve an alleged assault. The incident is still under investigation at this time,” Undersheriff Tim Hurtt said.
“Without confirming or denying the name involved, a complaint was turned in yesterday, and we are reviewing the complaint,” a Thursday statement from Calhoun County Prosecutor David Gilbert said. “There is more information outstanding and should be in to us by next Wednesday.”
