KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — An elderly woman was injured after police say she was knocked over by a fleeing shoplifter at Woodland Mall.
The incident happened at Macy’s in the northwest wing of the mall Wednesday shortly after 2 p.m.
Loss prevention officers from Macy’s were trying to stop the suspected shoplifter when he ran away and knocked the woman to the ground.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a possible hip injury.
The suspect was not caught.
Thursday, officers were following up on leads in an attempt to make an arrest, according to Kentwood Police Chief Tom Hillen .
